She honed her craft at New York City’s Professional Performing Arts School, and then leapt into the professional theater scene. Since then, Afra has graced stages in the original Broadway companies of In the Heights, Ghost, Soul Doctor, Shuffle Along, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical (u/s Disco Donna), Hadestown (u/s Persephone), The Who’s Tommy (2024 revival, u/s Acid Queen, Mrs. Walker), Funny Girl (2022 revival), Bob Fosse’s Dancin’ (2023 revival), and Pirates! Additionally, Afra spent a year on the First National Tour of Hamilton, playing Los Angeles and San Francisco, and spent 7 seasons “on the line” as a Radio City Rockette.

Afra brings the same passion and versitility to screen and television, having performed in “Annie Live!”, “Fosse/Verdon”, “Boardwalk Empire”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, “Mozart in the Jungle”, and “SNL”.
